Keith Plunkett

Keith has been playing music for the guts of ten years. He didn't start writing as a singer-songwriter until he was sixteen. Before that, he was a member of a cover band and played with young musicians from around his local area in Ballyhaunis, Co.Mayo. He is in 2nd year in DKIT studying Music & Audio production in Dundalk, Co.Louth.

Keith has been performing gigs since he was fourteen and has gone through different styles of music to end up as a singer-songwriter. He also incorporates a loop pedal into his gigs which add percussion from the guitar and vocal harmonies.

Keith has played slots for Le Chéile festival, Solas festival, The Secret Village festival, and some more. He has played gigs in pubs and cafés in many different counties in Ireland and has met some really good musicians along the way. He has had interviews and performances on radio stations such as CCR, Flirt FM, Dundalk FM, and ShannonSide.

In 2014, he recorded a demo EP entitled 'Long Way Down' in a home studio. While workng on a second demo version of this EP, that was being produced by Keith and some friends, he got contacted from an executive from 'Downda Road Productions', Mike Gleeson, who brought him down to The Golden Egg studios in Portlaoise to record some acoustic sessions and demo tracks for his debut EP. Since signing to the label in early 2015, Keith has been given more promotion and opportunities to release music and start a fan base. He has also been writing more songs to record and has been improving older songs that will be re-done for the upcoming EP which is yet to be named.

Keith is looking forward to working in the studio for the next while and preparing for 2015 and all it has to hold.
